Understanding of the Phases of The Water Cycle
Students will complete a worksheet activities on the "Phases of The Water Cycle".
Students will complete a worksheet activities on the "Phases of The Water Cycle".
Experiment
Students will demonstrate their understanding of a rain cloud in a "My Cloud in a Jar" lab. Students will get a cup filled with water. They will put shaving cream on top of the water and then using food coloring, they will see how much their "cloud" can hold before it starts to rain in the cup. When the food coloring drips into the water, that will represent rainfall. All results will be written in their lab packet for the experiment.

Applying the Lesson
Students will be assigned to do research on Water Conservation and its importance. They will then be instructed to create their own brochure or poster to help promote Water Conservation.
Prediction
Students will be asked why they think precipitation occurs. They will be told to refer back to their experiment with the shaving cream and food coloring. Students will need to write a conclusion paragraph as to why we have precipitation.
